Similarly to the words of English poet Edmund Waller, “…all human things of dearest value hang on slender strings,” art can be made with common threads and extravagant fibers to create a masterpiece. Celebrate Cumberland Valley Artists Day

Celebrate Cumberland Valley Artists Day at WCMFA Saturday, April 15, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Kaylor Atrium or if weather permits, the Rose Garden. Free beer samples from Thick-N- Brewing Co. (for those 21 and older), live music, and live artist demonstrations. Fine arts and crafts will be for sale by CVA artists who were selected for the Cumberland Valley Artists and Photographers Exhibitions. The event is free.

Cumberland Valley Artists and Photographers Exhibition

An annual tradition since 1933, the Cumberland Valley Artists and Photographers Exhibitions showcase, celebrate, and support artists of the Cumberland Valley region. This juried exhibition accepts work from Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. The exhibitions will be on view from February 11 to April 23, 2023.

This year’s jurors were Dr. Mary Morton, curator and head of the French paintings department at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and Dr. Leo Hsu, interim executive director of Silver Eye Center for Photography in Pittsburgh and an instructor in the photography program at Carnegie Mellon University.
